Join us for this annual night to get out and enjoy food, friends, and music! Brats, hotdogs, chips, & beverage for a small charge provided by Adult Fellowship. Pie & ice cream provided by WELCA for a small charge. Don & Peggy Holtan are back with their “Old Time” musical selections.
WELCA Doing Day on March 15 was filled with mission work that will benefit many around the world. The quilters completed 5 quilts. The quilts made throughout the year were distributed to many local missions along with Lutheran World Relief.
Also completed and sent to Lutheran World Relief were:
- 42 baby care kits
- 39 school kits
- 34 personal care kits
- 20 fabric kits
Kits completed and delivered to Global Health Ministries included:
- 46 newborn kits
- 26 hospice/AIDS kits
We took time out for a wonderful potluck lunch, and the CKP students came in and performed for us. A big “Thank you” to everyone who donated items and helped put the kits together. A special “Thank you” to Bruce and Jeannine Allen for delivering the kits to Lutheran World Relief and Global Health Ministries in the Twin Cities.
The featured speaker will be Kevin Doely. He is a pastor, ventriloquist, author, and musician (and Sharon Melquist’s brother).
According to his website, “Audiences are laughing out loud at Kevin’s lifelike vent figures and puppets. He uses a blend of comedy, storytelling, music, and audience participation…Kevin will entertain…while teaching valuable lessons.”
Music entertainment will be provided by Samantha Tripp.
If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, there are sign-up sheets on the WELCA board and in the office. Tickets are $12.00 each.

The women of St. John’s will be busy ladies for the next two months. On November 13 Shirley Gangstad will be delivering our message as we celebrate THANK OFFERING Sunday. The women will be bold participants of the service that Sunday. We bring our offerings of thanks for the past year, offerings financial and for the food shelf. Any woman or child who would like to be a part of this service, please join us as we bring those offerings forward. We will provide envelopes for the financial offerings and also have some small grocery bags for our little women to carry to the front of the church.
December brings us to the Christmas Luncheon on December 10 where we celebrate Advent together with a room full of women served a lunch by the men of St. John’s. Be on the watch for the details of this event.
