• Announcement about Wednesday afterschool: At this time, our Wednesday afterschool program is on hold through the end of the calendar year due to our lack of transportation. Our big blue bus no longer passed the Department of Transportation inspections and was sold as of July 1. The funds from this sale will go toward the purchase of a new type of transportation, which our congregational leadership is working to find at this time. The Education and Youth and Family Commissions will share updates on our afterschool program and transportation news as it becomes available.
On Wednesdays during the school year, St. John’s provides faith-based programming after school. Kindergarten through 6th grade students can ride our bus to the church from Kasson-Mantorville Middle and Elementary Schools. From 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm students get a healthy snack and spend time in fellowship with friends. From 3:45 pm – 5:00 pm volunteers offer different “Choice Time” activities, including Children’s Chimes, Playground Time, Games, Science Experiments, and Obstacle Courses just to name a few. It is our hope that this program will continue to gather together our children for fun and fellowship.
St. John’s Afterschool is from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on Wednesdays during the school year.
St. John’s will transport students from KM Middle or Elementary school to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Students are invited to join us at 5:00 pm for Wednesday School which is followed by a meal and worship.
