High school youth ministry at St. John’s is made up of 9th-12th grade students. This ministry provides an opportunity for high school students to gather for fellowship, a safe space to ask questions, and experiences to learn and grow with peers while having fun.

Summer 2021

YouthWorks Service Trip to Duluth – cancelled

Northern Minnesota Canoe Trip – FULL

August 4-8, 2021

We’re planning for a canoeing trip in northern Minnesota for current 7th-12th graders for Summer 2021. Space is limited, so sign up early! This trip is open to all experience levels.

Summer Camp Options

    • St. John’s will be heading to Sugar Creek Lutheran Bible Camp in Ferryville, WI (about 2 hours from Kasson) the week of June 13-18, 2021. There are a variety of programs available to our students.For registration: Info and registration can be found here. During online registration, ignore the “Hold ID” field, for confirmation camp be sure to select St. John’s from the church dropdown, choose Tier 2 if you must choose one to register, do not pay the camp – enroll and then send an email to to let her know you’re finished, and pay $25 on (enter $25 and select “Youth and Family Events”). If you have money held over from a 2020 summer trip, this step isn’t necessary.Programs:
      • Confirmation Camp: current 6th-8th graders. There will be dedicated time each day for time with Lindsay and other St. John’s leaders.
      • Horse Camp: current 5th-7th graders.
      • Current 8th graders are also eligible to participate in high school programs Voyageurs and Riverboaters.
      • Students are welcome to attend other weeks of camp as well if there is another program that interests them.
    • Students are also welcome and encouraged to attend camp at Good Earth Village near Spring Valley, MN. This summer they will focus on intergenerational overnight camps and one-day adventure experiences. They are offering themed days for K-12 grade campers and faith-filled family experiences onsite. Visit their website for camp descriptions, dates, and pricing. Registration is now open! If your student or family is interested in attending, contact Lindsay at St. John’s is able to subsidize these options as well.

Action Packed Day Camp

Action Packed Day Camp will take place this summer, but in a slightly different way. This day camp is open to current 4th-8th graders. Rather than a full week there will be 3-4 day events (a trip to ValleyFair as an example) throughout the summer. Dates will be released in the early part of April. There will be set aside rain dates for each event.
