High school youth ministry at St. John’s is made up of 9th-12th grade students. This ministry provides an opportunity for high school students to gather for fellowship, a safe space to ask questions, and experiences to learn and grow with peers while having fun.

Summer Camp 2022

St. John’s students will be attending a week of overnight camp at Sugar Creek Bible Camp in Ferryville, WI, June 12-17, 2022. Students currently in 5th-12th grade have a variety of options for camp including horse camp, confirmation camp, river boats, elevated hammock camp, and staff/leaders in training. Camp options for all age groups, including family camp, are available at Sugar Creek through the second week of August. More information can be found on camp program details at and there are also camp brochures available at the Welcome Desk. The cost of camp per student is $200 (about half the true cost of camp). Good Earth Village outside of Spring Valley, MN, is our congregation’s other overnight camp option. Students currently in 6th-8th grade have a second option for confirmation camp during the week of July 10-15, 2022 (changed from the originally published June week). The cost is $200 (about half the true cost of camp) and scholarships are available. A wide variety of day and overnight camps are available throughout the summer at GEV for current Kindergarten through 12th grade students. There are also two preschool play days for ages 3-5-year-olds with an adult on July 9 and July 30. Action Packed Day Camp

Join us for some summer fun! We will have two days of service and fun, followed by a final full day of fun at the MN Zoo. Cost for this camp is $15 a day which includes costs for events, camp t-shirt, and snacks. Adult chaperones are needed for this event as well. Please be sure to register early as we have limited space for this event. Payment for this camp can be made in the office or through and choose Youth and Family eventsRegistration is due by June 1.

High School Week Long Stay Trip

Join us for some summer fun! Even though the Youth Gathering was canceled, we are still going to have tons of fun! Join us for a week long stay trip at St. John’s July 18-21. We will be doing service projects, doing some learning with a study called The Big Questions for high schoolers, games, cooking, enjoying the outdoors, and much more! Students will have the option to stay overnight Tuesday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 20. We will camp out in tents on the lawn or do a lock-in at the building, weather depending. There is no cost for this trip/event. We will end our week with a Rochester Honkers baseball game! Registration is due by July 17.
